Our dedicated team of experts work hard behind the scenes to support the GeoWarehouse solution, to help bring you the most robust and authoritative property research, data, and analytics tools in Ontario. In our Team Member of the Month series, we will feature a new GeoWarehouse team member each month and highlight who they are and how they support the platform.
This month, we spoke with our Training Program Leader, Theresa Corindia, to highlight her experience at Teranet and how she supports her clients by offering them the knowledge and skill to maximize their use of GeoWarehouse and other Teranet solutions.
Q. Tell us a bit about your career path and how you came to hold your current position.
A. In 1997 my career with Teranet started as a contributor to the Land Registry Implementation project.
In 2000, I joined Teranet’s Customer Service team where I spent 13 years supporting our clients using Teranet’s Registry, Financial, Real Estate and Legal solutions. With all the innovation and new products introduced over this timeframe, there were many opportunities to grow my knowledge and capabilities.
In 2013, the opportunity to take on training for Real Estate & Financial Solutions became available, and I jumped at the opportunity. I love working with clients and helping them use our solutions, so it was a natural next step in my career path. My experience in customer service, knowledge of land registry and our products were sure to set me up for success. As I started in my role as a trainer, I realized with all my knowledge I needed to get to know my customers better, so I decided to get my real estate license and took the Mortgage Agent Licensing Course.
This led me to where I am today, as a Trainer for Teranet.
Q. How has your role changed over time?
A. As Teranet’s solutions continue to evolve, so does my role. For 13 years as a Customer Service team member, I directly supported our clients in their use of Teranet’s Registry, Financial, and Real Estate solutions. Throughout the years, these solutions have continued to enhance, grow, and offer new innovative solutions, therefore my role has adapted, and my depth of knowledge has grown.
In my current role, I have led courses in person and via webinar to help with adoption, explain workflow and provide awareness on all the amazing features these platforms offer. I have been able to build robust training calendars and training materials such as user guides and tips & tricks.
As I continue to expand the training resources available for our clients, I am beginning to build video content with the goal of creating a Resource Library for GeoWarehouse and REALM, that allows users to access training and information in one centralized location.
Q. How does your role tie into the modernization and innovation of solutions offered by Teranet?
A. In my role I engage with our clients directly to help them learn about our solutions. My goal is to not only help them understand workflow but also how the information and insight can help them complete due diligence and build their business. I am not only a trainer, but an advocate for our clients. When clients ask me a question or provide feedback about a feature that is not available in our solutions, I bring this back to the team for consideration, to further enhance & develop solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Q. What do you think is the most notable innovation in your division in recent years?
A. The most notable innovation in real estate would have to be the launch of the new MLS platform. It is mobile first and incorporates Land Registry information into the platform. This is a convenient, efficient, and streamlined technology. I am proud to work for a company that is always looking to offer a solution to make it easier for our clients to access and share the information they need to get the job done!
Q. What do you think has been the key to keeping your team at Teranet motivated and engaged?
A. The real estate team is an incredibly motivated and engaged team, that continues to find ways to offer solutions that meet their clients’ needs. With such an amazing team of people committed to excellence, they remain customer focused on an ever-changing real estate market. With the ability to use our market insight, the real estate team is always applying their knowledge to finding ways to improve and enhance the solutions we offer.
Q. What can customers expect in the future?
A. Our customers can expect Teranet to continue to develop and design solutions with their needs in mind. Through our clients’ feedback, we continue to enhance and evolve our solutions, so that our customers can complete their due diligence and raise their value proposition as a real estate or land professional. I am excited to continue to help our clients learn more about the value Teranet solutions offer and support our clients in their business.
